The Breed • The advantages and qualities of the Pedigree Welsh Mountain Sheep remain as relevant and as important to agriculture in the twenty-first century as they have been for generations. • It is a multi-purpose breed that can fit into any sheep system. • The Pedigree Welsh Mountain Sheep can live off a variety of habitats from your uplands to your lower ground • The Pedigree Welsh Mountain Ewe is economical, milky and hardy. They are excellent mothers who are protective of their young, and require little to no help during lambing. • The lambs are born with a good covering of wool to enable them to survive in harsh weather. • The lambs tend to be lively at birth and are determined to get up and suckle within the first few minutes of their life, and thrive on only their mother's milk. • As the Pedigree Welsh Mountain Sheep are a medium sized breed they are easy to handle, with the ewes usually weighing between 45kgs - 55kgs with rams hitting the scale at 80kgs - 90kgs.
